Horses
Welcome to Rock Creek Walkers! We've been in Spring Valley, Wisconsin for over 12 years and purchased Knieval's Copy (Pete) in 1996 as a 2 year old stallion prospect. We bred a few mares that first year, and were very pleased with the foals that we got. Pete has bred 3-12 mares every year, mostly solid colored Tennessee Walking Horses. We have consistently gotten 75% spotted babies and in 2004 we got 100% spotted babies! Almost all of the horses pictured on our website are Pete's kids. In 2004, we purchased a new stallion, A Golden Opportunity, that has been producing great foals in Texas. We bred him to 5 of Pete's daughters, and really loved what we got! "Opie" was bred to mares in Texas very similar to ours and the results were awesome. In the summer of '06 we castrated Pete. He is living the life of Riley as a gelding, running in the big pasture with the rest of the riding horses. We don't think he misses his old life - he's got lots of friends, and even a girlfriend! We also decided this year that we were going to cut back on the breeding and raising of foals. We bred the mares to Opie for one last foal, and then he went back to Ken Shipman at Shipman Spotted Walkers in Seymour, Texas. I'm sure he's glad to be back to a little milder climate! We offer gaited trail horses and horses of all ages and colors for sale. If you're looking for a well broke trail horse, please contact us.
